The crossing
LeShuttle runs from Folkestone to Calais and the crossing itself takes around 35 minutes. You stay with your vehicle for the whole journey, so there are no stairs, no seat allocations and nothing to carry.
From Calais it is roughly a three hour drive to Disneyland Paris on good autoroutes — around 194 miles via the A26 and A1.
Check in times
- Arrive at least 60 minutes before your departure time
- Arrive no later than 2 hours before departure
- Have passports and vehicle documents to hand for border checks
- Vehicles equipped with LPG or gas systems may be prohibited — check before you travel
Take as much as you like
There is no baggage allowance to worry about. Pushchairs, travel cots, food for the room and space for everything you bring home all fit, which is why so many families with young children choose to drive.

Parking arrangements vary by hotel — some Disney hotels include it, others charge a nightly rate, and most partner hotels offer free or low cost parking. We will confirm the position for your chosen hotel before you book.

Do we need anything special to drive in France?
Carry your driving licence, insurance and vehicle documents, plus the legally required kit including a warning triangle and high-visibility vests, and a UK identifier on the vehicle.
Can we take a roof box or towed trailer?
Yes, but heights and lengths must be declared when booking as they can affect the fare and the carriage you are loaded into.
What if we miss our crossing?
Turn up at the terminal and you will usually be placed on the next available departure, though an amendment fee can apply.
